W2 D2

This morning's run:

Similar to Monday's, I think. 2.33 miles.

I was thinking I probably shouldn't be including the warm-up and cool-down in here, since it assumes I'm actively running during my "workout" ... but I'm not going to worry about that for now. I don't really care about pace, and I'm keeping my race relatively steady because I'm still on the treadmill (although, different treadmills depending on the day).

I wasn't scheduled to run today, but I was awake and I felt like it. How cool is that? (Probably not cool that I can never seem to sleep for more than 5 hours a nite, but ...) Anyone think my "short" nites of sleep could affect my running?

The only other problem I've had so far is a touch of ankle pain. It's not stabbing or anything but definitely hurts when I first start walking. It's an old injury, but doesn't give me problems walking or elliptical or anything. I'm assuming it's just the higher impact. It usually goes away after a few minutes - thoughts?

Have a good hump day everyone!

sleep is a strange thing. When I was in the Army I never slept more than 6 hours a night. So I guess I am not sure, maybe - maybe not.

Personally, I love my sleep...mm I love waking up all refreshed, but anyhow back to you. I think everyone needs different amounts of sleep and as you run more you may find you actually need and crave a little more sleep.

On the ankle, you might try making sure you stretch and do some strengthenin exercises just to make sure it doesn't set you back in the future

That's totally cool that you just felt like running. It's nice to have days like that.

I always wince when a runner complains about a knee or ankle, from reading around blogs such injuries usually start small and get worse over time, if it's really bothering you maybe you should see a specialist....
