Missing Again ...

Yes, I've been missing again for a few weeks. I've been running only sporadically and with virtually no success. The first 8 to 15 minutes go off without a hitch and then the arch pain returns. I plan to buy some inserts tonite to see if they will help alleviate the problem. It's not going away with rest as I had hoped.

For anyone who's had a similar problem: do I need to wear inserts all the time in all my shoes, or only while running? I don't have low arches or anything like that and they never hurt while walking or during any other type of exercise, just running ...

Welcome back to the blogosphere. :)

I use SuperFeet in my shoes and just replaed the sock liner the shoes came with with them. I leave them in and wear them for everything.

I can't remember if you had yor shoes fitted, but it might be worth the time to wander by a good running store and have them take a look. They might have some ideas

I would suggest that you go to a local running shop and get them to fit you properly for shoes. It'll make a huge difference.

I also use SuperFeet and they are great.

Welcome back! I've been wondering where you had gotten to.

I agree that if you are having problems, you might have to bite the bullet and go to a running store and try not to choke on the expense involved. I had no problems, but my husband had to do that because he could not run without immediate shin pain. The jury is still out about whether the visit to the running store helped him, though. It sure didn't help our bank account, that's for sure.

Good luck!

The reason I hated running whenever I tried it was the foot pain and shin splints. I always thought it was because I was slack and would eventually build up enough muscle for the pain to go away. But no!
The my FBH started working for a podiatrist and he fitted me with orthotics. No more shin splints or foot pain.
